Santa Hat Park and Stride

St. Aidan’s National School organised a whole school ‘Santa Hat Park and Stride’ this morning!!! 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️ This was a thoroughly enjoyable exercise in the December sunshine with three clear goals for the school community: 1. Our Active Flag – Movement in walking ti school and getting valuable exercise. 2. Our Green School Flag – Encouraging our children to become global citizens and improve our carbon footprint. 3. Traffic Measures – Raising awareness about safety measures to slow down traffic passing out school every morning. Well done to everyone involved and especially to the children for remembering to wear their high visibility jackets!! 👏🏼🚦

St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations, 15th March 2019

Food Dudes, 20th March 2019

Well done to all our pupils who recently took part in the Food Dudes Healthy Eating Programme.  The aim of the programme is to encourage children to eat and enjoy a healthy amount of fruit and vegetables.

Each day, for 16 days, children were given a portion of fruit and vegetables and were rewarded with small prizes for successfully eating them.

It is now hoped that children will continue to bring their own fruit and veg to school in their specially provided Food Dude lunchbox.  Classroom wall charts will be used to record progress and children will receive Food Dudes Certificates and further rewards upon reaching goals.
