Congratulations to Ben Donohoe, Dylan Edwards, Mark Fahy, Luke McCaffrey, Cian McGovern and George Plunkett from 2nd class who received their First Holy Communion on Saturday in St Mogue’s Church, Bawnboy. They all looked very smart on their special day.
A big thank you to Fr Phair for the meaningful ceremony, to Mrs Boyle for preparing the boys so well and to Mary Fitzpatrick and our school choir for the lovely music.
It was a wonderful occasion and we are very proud of you!
Mrs Doherty’s class made the most of the spring sunshine today and set out on a ‘Spring Walk’. They used their senses to look for signs of spring. They succeeded in finding most of the signs they had been learning about in class. They also made a lovely collage of Spring Colours.

Children in Classes 2nd – 6th visited the Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh today as a follow-up to work on ‘Schools in the Past’, 19th Century Ireland and The Famine. The highlight for the pupils was the talk on the voyage of the famine ships across the Atlantic to the New World.
It was a very informative day giving the pupils a deeper insight into life in the past. Watch the short video to see our photos.
Bhí Seachtáin na Gaeilge ar siúl roimh an Cháisc. Bhí dánta, amhráin agus gníomhaíochtaí chultúrtha eile ar siúl i ngach rang. Quizzes as Gaeilge, seanflocal and art competitions were just a few of the many activities that took place during ‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’. Our Cheolchoirm was the highlight of the week. A very enjoyable time was had by all. Gaeilge Abú i Scoil Aodhán Naofa!! Watch the video to see our photos.

World Book Day took place today, and coincided with the annual Book Fair Visit. To celebrate, our school held a ‘Book Swap’ where children brought in a book they no longer needed. The books were put in a box and the children were invited to choose a different book to take home with them. The event was hugely successful and there was a real buzz of excitement as the children chose their new book. We hope you enjoy reading them.
Mrs Boyle’s Class made their own thatched cottages when they were studying 19th Century Ireland. There was enough straw to feed 10 cows for the winter!!
