The children in Junior and Senior Infants are currently taking part in the Zoom Boom Physical Activity Programme every Thursday for six weeks.  The programme, which is being delivered by Aisling Doonan, works on flexibility, cardio, strength, co-ordination and balance through fun games and activities.  As you can see from the photos the children are definitely enjoying keeping fit.

Templeport Abú, 29th September 2015

There was great excitement today when some of the boys from the local Templeport team visited our school after winning the Junior Football County Championship.  It was great to see some of our very own past pupils again who brought along the winning cup to show the children.  Well done boys and thank you!

Football Success, 21st September 2015

Well done to the boys from St. Aidan’s who were on the victorious Under 8 Templeport team who won the final in Drumlane at the weekend.

Also well done to our pupils who were on the Under 12 winning team who defeated Lacken in a thrilling final.

We are very proud of you!

Today we enjoyed a very active Sports Day in St. Aidan’s N.S.  This year we were lucky to have Francis and Philip spend the morning with us doing orienteering activities.  In the afternoon the pupils participated in a variety of races.  Thank you to last years 6th Class pupils who came back to help us.  A fun day was had by all.  Check out the photo gallery below to see some photos from the day.

GAA Stars in the making!  Wednesday 10th June 2015

A big ‘thank you’ to Chris McCaffrey from the local Templeport GAA Club who has been coaching the pupils in Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First Class each Wednesday morning for the past couple of months.  The pupils thoroughly enjoyed having Chris train them and he did a great job developing their ball handling skills and coordination.  Chris is pictured below with the pupils.

Get on Your Bike!  Tuesday 9th June 2015

National Bike Week 2015 will take place from 13th to 21st June.  To coincide with this and as part of raising awareness and increasing road safety, the pupils in 5th/6th Classes took part in ‘Bikeability’ Training Level 1 this afternoon.

All pupils were encouraged to wear helmets and taught the importance of signalling and taking care on the road.  They also had a slow bike race and had to cycle through cones and practise an emergency stop.

The training was organised by Cavan Sports Partnership and supported by Cavan County Council.

Clay Pottery Crafts, 27th May 2015
