WHEN A DREAM BECOMES A REALITY

Back in 2016, Peter McKiernan, father of Joey and Muireann, suggested to the school that our playing field could be improved and he felt confident that he would be able to encourage parents and pupils, past and present, and local people to give of their time, machinery and expertise to do so.

Once the wheels were set in motion a lot of work went on behind the scenes to ensure that there was funding for materials needed and diesel for machinery.

All through the Summer of 2016 mountains of soil were moved and what a transformation occurred. As a result of this momentous achievement, our school has now a flat, well-drained, top class playing pitch with walking track.

The pupils and staff would like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who played a part in delivering this mammoth project for the current generation of pupils in St. Aidan’s and for all those who will pass through our school in the many years that lie ahead.

Go raibh míle míle buíochas daoibh!
