Green Schools

Picture
Our school is taking part in the ‘Green-Schools in Ireland’ Initiative operated by An Taisce.  Our aim is to reduce our school’s environmental footprint and empower each other to make a difference to our world.

The programme covers 6 different aspects Litter and Waste, Water, Energy, Travel, Biodiversity and Global Citizenship.  We initially worked on the theme of Litter and Waste and in June 2018 we were awarded our 1st Green Flag.

We are presently working towards achieving our 2nd Green Flag which is based on 'Water'.  This theme looks at developing awareness around water conservation and how to effectively manage this important resource in our schools and at home.

As part of the programme we have set up a new committee for this theme which comprises of pupils from 1st to 6th class along with teachers and a parent representative.  The committee is as follows:

Pupil Representatives

      Teacher Representatives

        Mrs Maguire

        Mrs Doherty

        Mrs Boyle

        Parent Representative
