Congratulations to Dean McAveety, Caoímhe Gilroy and Kevin McCaffrey who received certificates for their full attendance during the school year 2017/2018. Well done and keep up the super attendance!
We had two good reasons to celebrate the end of term here in St. Aidan's with the official opening of our new pitch and the raising of our first Green Flag. See photos below of the momentous occasion. To find out more about our wonderful new pitch click on the 'New Pitch' Tab above. A big thank you to Seanie Cassidy, local artist and father of Fintan, who worked with the pupils in all classes on an art project based around the theme of positive words and phrases.
The finished masterpieces were displayed in Ballinamore Library during the summer before being taken down and brought to Cavan General Hospital where they have been displayed permanently. Thank you again Seanie for giving the children the opportunity to work on this enjoyable project. Check out the photos below taken on our end of year school trip to Shannon River Adventure, Rooskey, Co. Roscommon. First Reconciliation - 22nd March 2018

We proudly received our first Green Flag for 'Litter and Waste Reduction' at an awards ceremony in City North Hotel in Gormanstown, Co. Meath on Thursday 17th May.
Three pupils from the Green School's Committee (Siobhán, Sarah and Laura) along with principal Mrs Maguire, attended the ceremony to collect the award and represented our school wonderfully. See some photos from the day below: Did you know that bees are the most important pollinators of crops in Ireland? Did you know that the solitary bee is the most common bee in Ireland?
